Charity shop shouting out for students in Telford

Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin is offering voluntary work to those who have just finished college or university.

The manager at the charity furniture shop in Wellington is offering a unique opportunity for those who have just finished their studies and wanting to gain work experience in a retail environment.

The volunteer role would suit anyone over the age of 18 who is having a break from college or university, taking a gap year or just graduated. The local charity is specifically looking for volunteers who enjoy meeting people, can offer good customer service and be available to do a minimum of one shift a week. Anyone interested in joining the team at Wellington should pop in for a chat with the manager, Paula Hinks.

Profits from the charity furniture store is put towards the delivery of valuable services for older people in the town’s catchment area.

Heather Osborne, Chief Executive of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone seeking valuable work experience to enhance your CV and help you get into work. By volunteering your time you will also be giving something back to the community, making a real difference to the lives of local older people in the Wellington area”.
