Vintage Tea Rooms in Newport Brew up Support of the RAF Benevolent Fund

| by Editor | Posted in Telford News, Telford Food & Drink

Harts Vintage Tea Rooms, based in Newport is hosting an Afternoon Tea in support of the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

Owner Mark Hartshorne of the vintage tea rooms has a deep rooted connection with British Forces as does his wife Jean, who currently works for RAF Cosford.

Mark spent 20 years working at MOD Donnington before accompanying his wife on a posting to Cyprus. On returning to the UK after the sunshine tour, Mark, who has always had a passion for cooking, embarked on setting up his own business venture, hence Harts Vintage Tea Rooms was born and goes from strength to strength.

Afternoon Teas will be served on Sunday 21st May with bookings being taken from 1.00 – 5.30pm, the cost is £15.00 per person with all the proceeds going to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

Mark Hartshorne who owns the vintage tea shop said: “this is the second year we have run the event and it is very popular, we really want to give something back to our British Forces who do so much for our country, the afternoon tea idea is a fun way of providing good quality food that raises money for a worthy cause.”

Afternoon Teas will be served on individual 3-tier cake stands with a selection of finger sandwiches, fruit or cherry scones and a fabulous selection of handmade sliced cake with unlimited tea or coffee served in vintage teapots.

If people would like to book a table for afternoon tea contact Mark on 01952 872250 or 07808 887875 who will be more than happy to give more information and take reservations.

For anyone unable to attend the event but would still like to donate please log on to -  to donate directly to the RAF Benevolent Fund.
